Join us for a fun-filled Fall Family Day at MAM celebrating Shadow Play on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Experience the art of illusion at this fun-filled day inspired by the playfulness of our current exhibition Impossible Shadows: The Art of Larry Kagan.
Be amazed by a spectacular shadow puppet performance and mystifying magic show with special guests Midnight Radio Show – a multidisciplinary arts collective – and Magician Tanya Solomon.
Create eye-catching optical illusions with MAM art educators, explore the light and shadow of your face while creating self-portraits in our Family Learning Lab, and dazzle your friends in a comic drawing station led by Montclair’s comic book store East Side Mags!
Join us in our galleries for a Family Tour of Impossible Shadows: The Art of Larry Kagan. Viewed without lighting, Kagan’s artwork looks like abstract metal sculptures. With special lighting, the sculptures’ shadows form a range of images from a portrait of Andy Warhol to a playful poodle.
We are certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that your family will have a blast at the MAM Fall Family Day: Shadow Play!
